I’m reading through the Bible in chronological order. Now, I had started this plan about two weeks ago, but the farthest I’ve gotten is Noah. Why? I keep on reading the Creation story. I felt like God was trying to tell me something so I kept re-reading it and re-reading it some more. I read the first three Chapters of Genesis today a little differently; I read them out loud. I was brought to tears before I even got to God creating Adam. I was listening to “Crags and Clay” by Gungor (Spotify link below… hopefully) and it was beautiful. God really opened my eyes. As I was reading the Creation story for probably the 17th time I felt like David. Psalm 8:3- 9 says:
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind the you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; and put everything under their feet: all the flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. Lord, or Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”
God put care into creation, but he put love into us humans… it says we are a little lower than angels, because we have the breath of life and the spirit of God in us. I read this devotional a little while ago… the idea of it was that the majesty of creation is like God’s love poem to us. So go out today and notice the sun, and take note to the bird, and smile at flower. I think I will. God bless.
I enjoyed reading this! God bless!
